The Greenhouse with SA Harvest is a practical food-growing and skills-development project rooted in Cwebeni, Port St Johns, South Africa.
The project is sponsored by SA Harvest and happens in cooperation with Fresh Life Produce. The growing system used is the African Grower, a vertical, water-efficient system from Fresh Life Produce, and their team has trained local women in how to work with the system, care for the plants and build practical growing skills.
The greenhouse is directly connected to the iThemba Kuluntu No.1 ECD Centre. It helps supplement the daily meals served to 120 children, strengthening child nutrition while building local skills and food resilience.
This project is about more than vegetables. It is about local food production, women's training, nutrition, water-wise growing, community resilience and the possibility of growing more food close to the children and families who need it.

The greenhouse uses the African Grower vertical growing system from Fresh Life Produce. Instead of relying on large areas of land, the system grows upward, allowing more plants to be cultivated in a smaller footprint.
