Our Story
Since settling in Pondoland in early 2021, the Hannemanns have been deeply integrated with the Xhosa communities, quickly recognizing the urgent need for systemic support. In a significant move towards sustainability and structured aid, they collaborated with the Cwebeni community to take a decisive step. It was through the dedication and community upliftment efforts of Nosalathiso Phetshana, one of the directors of iThemba Kuluntu, that this vision was transformed into action.
Together, they registered iThemba Kuluntu as a nonprofit organization in South Africa in October 2023. This collective endeavor was further extended with the establishment of iThemba Kuluntu e.V. in Germany, alongside eight other founding members, aiming to provide broader, more comprehensive support.
